Pearly Gatecrashers were a twee pop band from Sydney, Australia. Their success occurred primarily in Asian markets, especially in Japan〔Eliezer, Christe (1997-06-07). "Aussie Indie shock expands in U.S., Japan", ''Billboard'' 109 (23): 6–7.〕 while they were signed to Shock Records.〔Eliezer, Christe (1998-08-01). "Australia's Shock slashes roster", ''Billboard'' 110 (31): 59.〕 The guitarist and songwriter Tim Butt went on to form Blandville.
